About TrainMyParent.com

Who Are We???

TrainMyParent.com is a White Hat service whose mission is to empower and educate seniors to safely navigate the online world. A "White Hat" is an ethical security hacker with good intentions and consent, trying to find vulnerabilities or security issues, and then to prevent them from being exploited by malicious actors.

How Did We Get Here?

Our team has specialized in internet security for over 20 years, starting in the software consulting industry, performing ethical hacks and trying to break into our own systems so that we could make them safer and less susceptible to a real attack. Over time, we saw many corporations training their employees on how to prevent being caught by phishing attempts, but there was nothing available for the general public. Our own family members did not have any way to proactively learn how to protect themselves, other than by reading scary stories of scams trapping others, never mind having any accountability to their learning and actions.

So, we created TrainMyParent.com to introduce an easy, step-by-step training program that our own parents can understand, with practical homework assignments that reinforce safe surfing practices.

Where Are We Going?

Every day we read more and more sad and aggravating stories about criminals targeting our aging family members and stealing their hard-earned retirement savings. Our goal is to train as many families that we can, to help prevent seniors from falling for these horrible scams. We believe the best way to protect ourselves is through education. By staying on top of the latest ruses, and communicating regularly with our online family, we hope that we can make this online world a little safer for those that matter the most to us.
